FAQ
A few things to know before an asset handoff.
What does Export Preflight check?
Generic names, surrounding whitespace or ambiguous slash paths, potential filename collisions, large PNG/JPG size estimates, duplicate export settings, and explicitly selected nodes without export settings. It checks your selection and descendants or the current page.
Does it change or export my designs?
It does not rename layers, edit export settings or export artwork. Navigating to an issue changes selection and viewport. Pro can download a CSV report.
Why is a name collision only “potential”?
Filenames are estimated from names, formats and suffixes. Case and Unicode normalization are considered conservatively. Figma's actual export behavior, operating systems and destination folders may differ. A warning is a prompt to review; a clean scan is not a guarantee of error-free delivery.
Why are only five issues visible?
Free includes summary counts and the first five issue details and their layer navigation, before filtering. Pro enables all reported details, navigation and CSV. Payment status is checked by the plugin's main code using Figma's official API.
What does PARTIAL SCAN mean?
The scan stopped before finishing, for example at 20,000 nodes or 40,000 export settings, after a page change, or because of an error. Counts and any CSV apply only to the inspected part. Scan a smaller selection and keep the current page unchanged.
Why does a layer without export settings have no warning?
Missing settings are reported only for explicitly selected nodes. Scanning a page does not flag every ordinary layer as an asset problem.
Pro is locked or payment status is unavailable. What now?
Use the account that purchased the resource, reopen the plugin, and check Figma's own purchase information. Unavailable payment status keeps Pro locked. Cancelling checkout does not grant Pro. Do not purchase again just to troubleshoot; contact support.
How should I handle the CSV?
Save it to a location you control. It contains layer metadata and may reveal confidential names. Formula-like values are prefixed to help prevent spreadsheet formula execution, so an apostrophe may be visible. Your spreadsheet application may interpret CSV differently; review before sharing.
Does the plugin need a running server?
No independent Node.js server, database, Docker container or developer account is required for the installed plugin. Figma's own application and payment services are separate. More details are in the privacy policy.
Which environments were tested?
The release candidate was tested in Figma Desktop 126.11.7 on macOS. Windows behavior and every possible export format or destination were not independently verified. Reopen the plugin if its panel stops responding; if the issue persists, send a redacted description to support.
